Payroll Process Transformation Manager

For our client operating in a Shared Services environment, we are looking for an experienced Payroll Process Transformation Manager to support a large-scale payroll transformation and vendor change initiative.
This is a project-driven, transformation-focused role, ideal for a professional with strong payroll expertise combined with solid project management, process mapping, and change management experience.
Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end payroll process transformation initiatives across Shared Service Centers

Map current (“as-is”) payroll processes and design future-state (“to-be”) solutions

Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities, including automation

Support preparation and execution of payroll vendor change initiatives

Oversee payroll/HCM system configuration, data migration, uploads, and reconciliations

Gather, validate, and translate local payroll and Time & Attendance requirements into system solutions

Partner closely with local HR and Finance teams across multiple markets

Manage project plans, timelines, risks, and dependencies

Drive change management activities within payroll teams and stakeholder groups

Prepare and present regular status updates and transformation outcomes to senior management
Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll operations, including at least 3 years in a Shared Services environment

3–4 years of hands-on experience in project management

Proven experience in payroll process transformation projects (vendor change experience is a strong asset)

Strong understanding of payroll processes and their interfaces with HR and Finance

Practical experience in process mapping and process gap analysis

Knowledge of payroll and HCM systems and payroll data management

Experience working in matrix organizations and with multiple stakeholders

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have

Experience in international or multi-country payroll environments

Participation in payroll system implementations or automation initiatives

Experience working with external payroll vendors
